Great Preseason Camp 2014
The students have completed a great ten days of preseason band camp. over 2/3 of the whole show is already on the field.
Josh Roberts, Director of Bands
Mr. Joshua Roberts is the Director of Bands at Whitewater High School in Fayetteville, Georgia. The band program at Whitewater consists of a competitive marching band, three concert bands, a jazz band, and other small chamber groups. The bands at Whitewater consistently receive superior ratings at performance evaluations.
Prior to his appointment at Whitewater High School, Mr. Roberts was the Director of Bands and Assistant Professor of Music at LaGrange College. While at LaGrange College, Mr. Roberts founded the band program. While there he created the college’s first ever marching band and wind ensemble. He also started a jazz band. In addition to his conducting responsibilities, he also taught several music education classes including a music appreciation class for non-majors.
Before going to LaGrange College, Mr. Roberts was the Associate Director of Bands at Newnan High School. He conducted the Concert Band, jazz band, two percussion ensembles, and co-conducted the Symphonic Winds. He was the percussion arranger for the marching band and supervised instrumental student teachers. While at Newnan, Roberts received the National Band Association Citation of Excellence on four different occasions. The bands at Newnan played several invitational events including the Honor Bands of Georgia at Columbus State University, The University of Alabama Honor Band Festival, The University of Georgia Janfest, and the Georgia Music Education Association’s State Convention. Prior to Newnan, he served as assistant director of bands at Jonesboro High School, where he conducted the symphonic and concert bands, arranged for the percussion section for the marching band and taught woodwind methods classes. He also worked as band director at Oglethorpe County Middle School, teaching six band classes, arranging percussion and helping with the high school marching band.
Roberts earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Education at Georgia Southern University in 2004. He also graduated cum laude from Columbus State University with a master's degree in education with an emphasis in teaching and creativity. He is currently a Music Education Doctoral Candidate at the University of Georgia.
He is married to Carrie Roberts, who is also a music teacher. Together they have three daughters, Isabelle (9), Madeline (6), and Evelyn (3). They reside in Fayetteville, Georgia.
Chad Reynolds, Associate Director of Bands
Chad Reynolds is currently in his fifteenth year as a public school band director. He accepted his current position as the Associate Director of Bands at Whitewater High School in the summer of 2019. Mr. Reynolds is also the Visual Caption Head and Visual Program Coordinator for the Atlanta CV Drum and Bugle Corps.
Prior to his appointments at Atlanta CV and Whitewater High School, Mr. Reynolds was the Associate Director of Bands at Newnan High School, Director of Bands at Evans Middle School in Newnan, and the Director of Bands for Pike County Schools. Mr. Reynolds was also the founding director of Newnan Winds. Under his direction, this group became a WGI four-time finalist and three-time medalist ensemble.
Mr. Reynolds holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Music Education from the University of Georgia. Mr. Reynolds works as a program coordinator, marching band consultant, adjudicator, and clinician for high school band programs across the Eastern United States. He is a member of the Epsilon Lambda Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha National Music Fraternity for Men, GMEA, NAfME, the National Band Association, and served on the Winter Guard International Winds Advisory Board. Mr. Reynolds is a native of McDonough, Georgia and currently resides in Hollonville, Georgia.
Corian Ellisor, Color Guard/Winter Guard Director
Corian Ellisor hails from Houston Texas where he participated in the colorguard at the University of Houston. He marched Emblem 281 and Code Black winterguards while living there. Code Black was the winner of the independent open class at Winterguard International in 2007. Also, Corian is an alumni of The Cavaliers Drum Corps.
Since living in Georgia, he has been the director of the Whitewater High School Colorguard and Winterguard. The guard has come very far over the past five years; winning several awards. He is happy to start his sixth year with the program and is excited to see what happens in this next year.
